Humanitarian organizations, coordinated by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, have been attempting in various ways to deal with the humanitarian crisis that has engulfed Duékoué and the Catholic Mission. The Ivoirian government has sent several military doctors to reinforce the overwhelmed capacity of the Mission dispensary. Since Refugees International’s recent visit, UNICEF and IOM have taken on the role of lead operational agency helping those affected by the events in Duékoué.
