Shizah Kashif is the communications and campaigns associate at Refugees International. Guided by her Kashmiri heritage and upbringing between the Middle East and South Asia, her dedication to refugee rights and empowerment began at a young age. She has assisted on Syrian refugee relief efforts in the Gulf, and volunteered with families and children in the Afghan refugee resettlement program in the U.S. Prior to joining Refugees International, she shot a documentary film on Afghan and Ukrainian refugees living in limbo in Turkey, conducted ethnographic research on democratization in Pakistan, and worked as a Research Assistant on Pakistan and Afghanistan at The Middle East Institute. She brings her grassroots engagement with refugee and rights advocacy, and academic background in journalism and humanitarian politics, to Refugees International.
She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Global Studies from Williams College.
