Tell Your Member of Congress: Save USAID, Save Lives

Write to Your Member of Congress
In a deeply unconstitutional move, the Trump administration is giving Elon Musk free rein to destroy an essential tool of U.S. leadership in the world: the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
For decades USAID has served as a critical bridge between the U.S. public and the rest of the world. It saves lives day in, day out – fighting famine in Sudan, providing emergency health care in Gaza, sheltering the displaced, and battling outbreaks and disease. Shutting down USAID will be devastating for millions of people—particularly refugees and displaced people—around the world.
The stakes are high. Shutting down USAID will not make America safer, stronger, nor more prosperous. Instead it will endanger millions of lives.
While the agency has been forced to stop their work:
- An Ebola outbreak is spreading in Uganda, with no U.S. capability to combat it
- Health care clinics in refugee camps serving tens of thousands of refugees from Myanmar have been ordered to shut down
- U.S. supported hospitals in Gaza are on the verge of collapse, putting the fragile ceasefire in jeopardy
- U.S. grown grain sent to feed people experiencing famine in Sudan are stuck on ships in port, unable to move and at risk of spoilage
Write to your Member of Congress NOW to tell them that you are proud of America’s global legacy of aiding people in crises. Urge them to immediately restore USAID’s lifesaving work and to use their Congressional oversight role to halt and investigate this unconstitutional attack.

Hello, my name is [Your Name], and I’m a concerned constituent calling about the Trump administration’s actions to shut down USAID.
This move is unconstitutional and harmful, and it’s alarming that an unelected billionaire like Elon Musk is influencing how my taxpayer dollars are spent.
Shutting down USAID will not enhance our safety or prosperity. It could devastate millions of people, including refugees, disrupt disaster relief, set back global public health, and harm our partnerships abroad. USAID has been a crucial link between the U.S. and the world for decades, showcasing America’s commitment to democracy and generosity.
I urge you to do everything possible to restore USAID’s programs and investigate this overreach. Thank you for your service and dedication to upholding our Constitution and our leadership globally.
