“Refugees International congratulates Ambassador Reuben E. Brigety II on his Senate confirmation to be the U.S. Ambassador to South Africa. As a respected, former member of our board and advisory council, we are so happy to see this important new role for him.

Reuben’s breadth of experience in diplomacy and humanitarian affairs, from his role as U.S. Ambassador to the African Union and U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa to serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, is both impressive and significant.”
