Zeid Raad Al Hussein Honored with Refugees International Exceptional Service Award
At its 17th Annual New York Circle luncheon on November 14, 2019, Refugees International honored former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Raad Al Hussein for his commitment to international peace-building and development, and his long tenure as a Jordanian diplomat.
Dancers of GALLIM gave a moving performance of “BOAT,” a piece choreographed by Andrea Miller that is inspired by Syrian refugees still persevering in their hope for life, despite unthinkable hardship.
Refugees International’s New York Circle is an awards ceremony and celebration honoring individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and commitment to humanitarian action. The highlight of the event is the presentation of the RI’s Exceptional Service Award to an individual who has committed his or her life’s work to tackling today’s humanitarian challenges. The New York Circle takes place at a critical time when more than 70 million people around the world have been forced to flee their homes due to war, conflict, and persecution.
We would like to thank our 17th Annual New York Circle sponsors:
